Centred on modern literary Tajik language after the re-Persianisation of the late 1980s, this impressive work is divided into five big chapters: phonology and orthograph; noun’s morphology; verbal morpholoyg; syntaxis; lexicon.  The numerous samples that illustrate precise but accessible analyses are given in both Cyrillic and Arabic scripts.  In all, the book consists of one of the most complete introductions to contemporary standard Tajik language.
