The author of numerous studies on ancient and traditional architecture of Central Asia, S. Mukimova provides a very panoramic overview of the development of architecture for religious and learning purposes in the Iranian world, from the most ancient times to the early twentieth century, with special interest in libraries ― a subject that would have deserved longer and less elliptic developments, as well as a subtler definition of the area covered by this study.
