This study of the poetical work of ‘Abd al-Wasi‘ Jabali, a Persian panegyrist of the first half of the twelfth century CE, stresses the rhetorical qualities of his qasidas devoted to the Saljuq ruler Sultan Sanjar, basing her own judgment on assessments by authors of classical literary repertories like Dawlatshah Samarqandi and Riza-Quli Khan Hidayat.
