On the basis of statistical material for the period 1990-2005, the author assesses the main trends of current migration processes in Uzbekistan, among which: the gradual interruption of the emigration of national minorities (including ‘Russian-speakers’); the increasing migration potential of the titular population; the growing relative part of the countries of the former USSR (most particularly of Russia and Kazakhstan) in the emigration from Uzbekistan; the reduction of the relative weight of inner migration and the increase of that of outer migration in the global volume of the migration process.  The article is concluded by some recommendations to the Uzbekistani government in the field of migration policy.
