In the framework of a highly polemical and passionate special issue of the journal Ethnographic Observation on the adoption of Latin alphabet(s) in the former Soviet Union, the author calls for a preservation of the Cyrillic transcription of Noghai language, invoking practical reasons (the possibility to write in Noghai language on any typewriter or computer throughout Russia) and political principles (the preservation of harmony and mutual understanding between nations peopling the Federation of Russia).
