Written on the occasion of Murghab district’s 70th anniversary by an amateur historian, indeed a former local official, this booklet recounts almost a century of the life of the local institutions, with many factual details (on members of key institutions, livestock figures, events and initiatives, etc).  The account follows a rough chronological line and draws mostly on the author’s personal knowledge and access to local archives.  It offers, despite, or one should say owing to, its unmistakable Soviet orientation, a useful source for regional history.
